The Human Version

Gladr is a walking companion app. Use it to enjoy walks, connect with friends, and be present. Don't use it for anything harmful. Be kind to other users. That's the spirit of it.

The legal stuff below is necessary, but here's what matters: we built Gladr with care, and we ask you to use it with the same intention.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using Gladr, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. These terms are governed by Danish law.

2. What Gladr Is

Gladr is a mindful walking app that helps you:

• Track your walks (stored locally on your device)
• Walk together with friends in real-time
• Send and receive "Ghost Walks"
• Discover "Twins" — strangers with similar walking patterns
• Block distracting apps during walks (Peace Mode)

Gladr is not a fitness tracker, not a social media platform, and not a navigation app. It's designed to encourage presence, not performance.

3. Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use Gladr. If you're under 18, you should have parental permission. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.

4. Your Account

Some features require signing in with Apple. When you create an account:

• You're responsible for keeping your account secure
• You can use Gladr without an account for basic features
• You can delete your account anytime in Settings
• We may suspend accounts that violate these terms

5. Acceptable Use

Please use Gladr respectfully. You agree not to:

• Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
• Send spam, offensive, or inappropriate messages
• Impersonate others or misrepresent yourself
• Use Gladr for any illegal activity
• Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or disrupt the service
• Scrape data or use automated tools without permission
• Use Gladr while driving or in dangerous situations

6. Safety

You are responsible for your own safety. Gladr does not verify the identity or intentions of other users. Exercise good judgment.

7. Gladr.+ Subscription

Gladr.+ is our premium subscription that unlocks additional features.

• Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Manage your subscription in your Apple ID settings
• Refunds are handled by Apple according to their policies
• We may change pricing with notice (existing subscribers keep their rate until renewal)

A portion of every Gladr.+ subscription goes toward tree planting initiatives.

8. Your Content

You retain ownership of content you create in Gladr (walks, messages, moments). By using social features, you grant us permission to transmit your content to other users as necessary for the feature to work (e.g., sending a message to a friend).

We don't claim any ownership over your walks or personal data.

9. Intellectual Property

Gladr, including its design, code, and content, is owned by Screaming Donkey Studio. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of Gladr without permission. The name "Gladr" and our logos are trademarks of Screaming Donkey Studio.

10. Disclaimer

Gladr is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep the app working well, but we can't guarantee:

• The app will always be available or error-free
• Location accuracy or GPS reliability
• The behavior or identity of other users
• That the app will meet your specific needs

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Screaming Donkey Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Gladr. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for Gladr.+ in the past 12 months.

12. Termination

You can stop using Gladr anytime by deleting the app. You can delete your account in Settings.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. We'll try to give notice when possible, but may act immediately for serious violations.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms as Gladr evolves. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Danish law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Denmark. This doesn't affect your rights under local consumer protection laws.
